Project We Own It
In 2012 the co-op was offered the opportunity to buy the building we had been renting. Our co-op was not in a financial position to afford the purchase through traditional funds. We decided to look to alternative methods of getting funding and the General Manager worked swiftly to organize and manage the crowd funding Project We Own It! campaign which rallied the community in support of the co-op. Through this program, the co-op was able to secure enough donations to help us afford the down payment on our building. Project We Own It! showed the power of community - and we are forever grateful for the love and support!
IV Food Co-op Goes Solar!
In 2017, the co-op entered into an agreement with the climate justice non-profit Re-Volv to supply solar power to our building. Our system generates approximately 25,000-30,000 kWh of power each year which helps to offset the energy demands of our equipment.
